One day, on my way home from a walk, something occurred to me.

A child and a dog were walking side by side.
They were part of the same family, yet the aesthetic of what they were wearing felt disjointed.

There are many cute children's clothes available.
And an increasing number of functional dog products.
But when I saw them side by side, there were surprisingly few items that exuded the "same vibe."

That's where Doudou wau began.

Creating matching outfits is harder than it seems.

Matching outfits for children and dogs. It sounds simple when you say it, but when you actually try to create them, you quickly hit a wall.
First, their body structures are completely different.

A baby's skin is soft and sensitive to friction.
Their movements also change with age, from rolling over, crawling, to toddling.
On the other hand, dogs move on all fours, exert pulling force, and their fur and body types vary greatly by breed.

Even if you use the same pattern and color, if they don't fit each body properly, it just ends up being a superficial match.
That's why we completely separate the design philosophy for children's items and dog items.

Baby and kids' wear are sewn one by one in domestic factories.

Because it touches a baby's skin directly, our baby and kids' wear are sewn in factories in Japan. Each piece is finished by Japanese artisans. The treatment of seams, the meticulous finishing of threads, the placement of tags.

These details directly impact comfort.

We also choose materials based on the premise of being easy for daily use. Not just for special occasions, but something you want to reach for every day. Something that maintains its texture even after repeated washes. We create each item while confirming this balance.

Dog products are planned in Japan and produced in specialized factories.

Dog harnesses and leashes are produced with a different approach than baby clothes. Planning and design are done in Japan, and we manage everything from material selection, specification determination, to setting inspection standards in Japan. Then, they are produced in factories specializing in dog products.

Dog products require expertise different from apparel, such as durability against pulling, safety of metal fittings, and fit to the body. While utilizing this expertise, we also uphold Doudou wau's design and quality standards. Achieving both is our manufacturing philosophy.

All patterns are originally hand-drawn.

Doudou wau designs do not use ready-made patterns. All patterns are originally hand-drawn with the premise of being worn by the family.

We meticulously design the color tone, motif size, and balance of placement so that they naturally harmonize when a child and a dog are side by side. It's not a design for one or the other, but something that looks pleasant to all family members in the same space.

That is what we value most when creating patterns.

Rather than "matching outfits," it's a feeling of "wearing the same time together."

What we aim for is not a visual match.
It's the feeling that when a child and a dog stand side by side, they "are in the same moment."
When photographed, the clothes and harnesses don't stand out too much, and the family's atmosphere remains intact.

It's not about being special because they match, but about making everyday life look just a little more put-together.
We want to be that kind of presence.
